The Challenge
To design a pallet racking layout for the storage of raw materials and finished goods within a new warehouse building.
This project needed to be completed under the Government Covid-19 Construction Guidelines to ensure the safety of our Staff, other Contractors, and the Client’s Staff.
The Solution
To supply and install 26 bays of single and double entry Pallet Racking capable of supporting a UDL of 2000kgs all with close boarded timber decking. One of the single entry runs had anti-collapse mesh netting installed to protect employees picking from the low level shelving at one end of the unit.
Overall, this installation can store 360 CHEP type pallets or 540 Euro pallets.
To fulfil our Health and Safety obligations, safe working practices utilising social distancing, PPE, and hand washing and sanitising were developed and implemented together with the relevant Risk Assessments, Method Statements and recording procedures.
